Finicity® is a leading financial data aggregator that specializes in real‑time account verification. Instead of waiting for micro‑deposits, Finicity® connects directly—using bank‑grade encryption—to your online banking credentials, confirming ownership and balances in seconds.
Why We Use Finicity®
Instant Verification: As soon as you enter your credentials, Finicity® confirms your account and balance, so you can make your initial deposit and future transfers without waiting.
Strong Security: All data is transmitted over encrypted channels and only during the linking process. Finicity® never stores your full credentials nor shares them with third parties.
Reliability: As a Finicity® partner, we benefit from its broad coverage of U.S. banks and credit unions, so you’re more likely to find and link your institution on the first try.
How to Link Your External Bank with Finicity®
In the Fort Knox app you'll be asked to link your bank when opening an account.
Select your bank from the searchable list powered by Finicity®.
Enter your online banking username and password when prompted.
Complete any multi‑factor authentication your bank requires (e.g., security questions, one‑time codes).
Once verified, your bank appears as “Linked” and is ready for ACH pulls and pushes.
What if Finicity® Can’t Find My Bank?
Smaller institutions may intermittently drop off or the search function may have encountered an error. A retry often works.
- If your bank is not listed at all, it may not be supported by Finicity®. If this is the case you may still be able to link your account by manually entering your account and routing number and verifying with microdeposits.
Privacy & Data Handling
Fort Knox automatically monitors the transactions of your external bank account to detect and prevent fraudulent activity before it can compromise your savings.
What we're looking for:
- The ownership of the external account matches the ownership of the Fort Knox Savings Account.
- Transfers in or out of Fort Knox correspond with the expected transfer to or from your external funding account.
- The external funding account hasn't been compromised, which could put your savings at risk.
This monitoring enables us to quickly detect potential fraud and lock down your account if needed, stopping it before it ever occurs. This information is not used for marketing or sale, only for keeping your money safe.
