Your Challenge Phrase is a custom security question and answer you create in the Fort Knox app.
Challenges Phrases are used by our Customer Support Representatives in the course of support as a means of mutual verification – ensuring that you are speaking with a Fort Knox representative, and that we are speaking with the account holder.
Why use Challenge Phrases?
Before discussing your account details with you our staff will ask for the answer to your challenge phrase. This ensures both that we know we are speaking with the accountholder, and you are speaking with a Fort Knox representative.
Fort Knox challenge phrases are open-ended. Because you can enter a fully custom question and answer combination, challenge phrases are more secure than more traditional security questions which often rely on publicly available information, like where you went to high school, your pet's name, or what kind of car you drive.
How to set your Challenge Phrase
To set your Support Challenge Phrase and configure other security measures, navigate to the Security section of the mobile app.
Accountholders without a Challenge Phrase set up may be asked to verify in other ways, including the verification of basic PII (personal identifiable information) or a CLEAR® mobile verification.
